The Venue
Situated on one hundred acres in the Western foothills of Maine, Stone Bench Farm is an ideal setting to reunite family and friends, share special moments and celebrate together during your weekend stay. With distant views of a nearby lake to the south and gently rolling mountains to the north, Stone Bench Farm allows you and your guests ample space to celebrate together. We invite you to connect with the farming roots of the barn, chicken coop and pasture while enjoying the modern amenities that have been added throughout the property. Site History
With roots dating back to the late 1700s, Stone Bench Farm has experienced periods of both dairy and poultry farming in its more than 200 year history. The property was sold and converted into a summer home in the 1980s before being resold to the current owners as a primary residence in 2002.
Your Hosts
Looking to raise a family in a rural Maine setting with easy access to both lakes and mountains, Mark and Kate Soehren purchased the one hundred acre Otisfield property then known as Lakeview Farm in October of 2002.
They have spent twenty years developing and landscaping the farmhouse and barn’s surroundings while raising their three children. After happily watching Atticus, Elias and McKinley grow and play in the adjacent gardens, fields and forests, Mark and Kate decided to transform their property into an event venue so that others could share in the joy of their homestead as well as in the fruits and blossoms of their labors. Their sincere hope is that you fall in love with the natural world of Stone Bench Farm and feel at ease in its surroundings.
